TPB Classic

What make TPB worktops (a porcelain-ceramic surface supported by the combination of several materials) different from other porcelain-ceramic worktops in the market.
Essentially, the two main differences are:

  • First difference: TPB is very resistant to the impact. (We have made several tests dropping a steel ball of 500 gr on the worktop from 80 cm height and TPB resists without breaking). This test is equivalent to the fall or slip of a bottle, saucepan, etc.)
    For TPB is important to clarify that TPB is very resistant but... It is not indestructible!
  • Second difference: TPB really holds high temperature (our guarantee covers up to 180 degrees Celsius). No gres-ceramic surface by itself has this property.

All this is possible due to TPB supports its first ceramic sheet with other materials which allow obtaining these mentioned properties. Whether thickness of ceramic sheet is 1-1,2 or 3 mm does not imply more resistance. The ceramic by itself does not accomplish these two properties.

Hydrofluoric acid It is the only compound which attacks and damages this surface. It is an irritating, corrosive and toxic substance that is used only in organic chemistry. It is not a common product, nor easy to find, neither part of any material used at.

APPLUS + LGAI
Technological partner that has carried out tests and issued certifications for the TPB® product. Global technical reference for evaluation of conformity, specifically for engineering of the product/process. LGAI Technological Center has tested and certified the specification of the resistance to bending, compression and impact for TPB®. TPB® has also been tested and certified for its apparent density and water absorption, resistance to heat shock, Mohs hardness, resistance to abrasion, resistance to slipping and absorption of water by boiling, among other tests.
INSTITUTO NACIONAL DE SILICOSIS (INS)
INSTITUTO NACIONAL DE SILICOSIS (INS - National Institute of Silicosis) was founded in 1970 as a health body belonging to the social security department, and it was declared a Special Centre for Social Security in 1974, and recognised as a national reference body for respiratory diseases caused by working conditions in1991, by the Federal Commission of the National Health Service. The activities of the INS are linked to its mission, which focuses on technical and medical prevention, teaching, investigation and consultancy on silicosis and other pneumoconiosis, as well as other activities related to the health of miners. The laboratory of the Technical Department of the INS has issued certification for the product TPB TOP PORZELANIK BARCELONA, certifying that in the experiments carried out on this product, they have detected no cristobalite or tridymite, which are the varieties most likely to cause silicosis and most dangerous.
